News from the Guidance Department:.

• Dual Enrollment applications are now available for anyone interested in taking a dual enrollment class NEXT year. Any student planning on taking a DE course next year MUST complete this packet. Simply signing up on your course request form will not place you in a DE class. This application is for new students to dual enrollment and students currently enrolled. You may pick up a packet from any of the following teachers: Aswell, Ashley Walker, Gulde, Rawls, Garvin, Eason, Etzel, Harris, Reynolds, and Knox. As a reminder, Ouachita Parish School Board plans on paying for 2 courses per semester for seniors and one per semester for juniors. All additional 3 hr courses are $300 for the 2024-2025 school year. The application deadline is no later than TOMORROW. This includes the ULM online application. Any student who is only taking a course through LA TECH will complete the paper portion only and will complete the online portion in the fall. All of this information can be found in the current dual enrollment packet.

Sports News: 

• Baseball went 5-0 over Spring Break, out scoring their opponents 44-3. They picked up wins against West Ouachita, OCS, Ouachita twice, and Benton. This pushes their record to 20 wins and 6 losses.They will play this Thursday vs Ash at home, and Friday vs Ash at Menard

• Softball went four and one over the break. They beat Claiborne Christian 13-0, Sulphur 3-0, West Ouachita 10-0, and Ouachita 10-0. Their only loss was to Quitman. They will play today at Ash. Then, they’ll play this Thursday at Ruston, and Friday at North Desoto. Outside of these games, they have two games remaining next week. Come out and support these ladies!

• Boys Powerlifting took home State Runner up as a team over the break! Podium finishers were Caleb Wilkinson silver in 148, Gage Dejean bronze in 220, Brodie Thurmon bronze in 242, and Damien Sanders took silver in 275. Congratulations to these men and Coach Many and his staff on a job well done! 

• Girls Powerlifting are your 2024 STATE CHAMPIONS ! This is their third State title in a row. Podium finishes were Caroline Joslin silver, Alyssa Blazier silver, Alora Walker silver, Addyson Caskey Silver, Anexi Roth silver, and Kamaria Evans gold !Congrats to these ladies and Coach Obie and his staff on an incredible season! 

• Tryouts to join this dynasty of girls powerlifting will be Thursday, April 25 at 3:45 PM in the old gym. You must have a current physical. Attire will be tennis shoes, athletic shorts, and a tshirt, not tanks or cut off shirts. See Coach Sims in the old gym for any questions!

• Track will have their home meet, the Jack Williams Relays, this Thursday. This will be a great opportunity to come see these athletes perform!   

• Tennis will be back in action today at home vs Caldwell, and they will host Pineville at home on Thursday.

Club and Organization News:

• Tryout days for Rebeline are tomorrow and Thursday at 3:30 at Edgewood. Please see Miss Tubbs in room 4109 for questions during 3rd lunch shift or 6th period

• Attention all Powder Puff Football coaches, players, dancers, & cheerleaders, today we will have our mandatory practice 3:30-5pm @the football practice field. It is important that you make today's practice! Cheerleaders & dancers will learn their routines. Players & Coaches will work on plays.

• Prom & Powder Puff Football tickets have been reopened for today & tomorrow. Ticket sales will close on GoFans on Wednesday at 3:00pm. If you have any questions, see Mrs Nix or Mrs. Jones.

• FCS has a meeting at 7:15 in the morning in the new gym.
